Chief Executive Officer

Ken is a proven leader who has an excellent track record of delivering safe, reliable operations ahead of schedule and under budget.  His experience spans from onshore to deep water and though the full lifecycle; exploration to mature fields and abandonment.  He has led drilling, completions, and workover engineering groups and operations around the world, to include the US onshore, shelf and deep water, UK, Russia, and the Middle East.

He retired from BP after 21 years progressing through roles of increasing responsibility, including leadership roles in BP’s Executive Center and Central Function.    Ken also led the implementation of the Deep-Water Horizon Recommendations throughout BP.  

After leaving BP, Ken headed up Planning and Operations for the Couvillion Group’s successful effort to contain an oil spill that had been ongoing for the past 15 years in the Gulf of Mexico working hand in hand with US Coast Guard, BSEE and NOAA.  In late 2019 BPX asked him to return and help with process safety issues in its onshore business, which he did as Wells Technical Authority.

Ken joined Escondido in 2021 as Executive Vice President of Operations and was elevated to CEO later in the year.

Ken served as a Captain in the US Army, holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and Business degree from University of Arizona.   Ken and his wife have a daughter and son, enjoy family time and the outdoors.
